The Cabernet Grill is a 10/10 experience, from the food to the service and the ambiance! I highly recommend giving it a try and making a reservation. For starters, the table started out with their honey Butter drop biscuits, and they were delicious. They were light, fluffy, fulfilling, and homemade. So good! I also tried the roasted carrot anchor soup. I'm not a huge fan of carrots, but this was amazing! So fulfilling and flavorful! For my entrée, I got the sweet chili Tempura Shrimp with mashed potatoes, which was amazing! The shrimp were pretty large and fried to perfection, the dipping sauce added the right bit of flavor, and the mashed potatoes were light and fluffy. For dessert, we had the warm butterscotch bread pudding, and that has to be one of the best desserts I've ever tried!! So light, filling, flavorful, rich, and sweet! I also had a glass of sweet rose wine. The service was amazing from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Such a great experience overall.

We celebrated our anniversary here and we were not disappointed! Started with Texas Twinkies and they were great...very fresh and great flavor. We had flounder and quail for main course and both were excellent. Quail particularly was awesome...best I'd ever had, very moist...highly recommend the quail. Finished it off with molten chocolate cake and bread pudding. Perfect meal to celebrate. Prices were great too with all that and three glasses of wine, the entire bill with a 25% tip was $200. I've spent a lot more for average food before.

I made a reservation a week in advance. I recommend this route as there were plenty of people waiting. The customer service from the moment you step foot into the restaurant is amazing. We had a male waiter who was tall, with brown ear lobe length hair, and a beard. I hate that I don't recall his name but he was so attentive that if you just glanced his way he took note and came to check on you. He was amazing at removing all excess dishes. He suggested dishes that we loved. I had the country fried ribeye with crawfish gravy. I am still in awe at how delicious it was. I couldn't finish it. I even took a break and came back to it. The mash potatoes did not help with the over stuffing I was doing. They were perfect. I never knew I needed them this meal combination. I found my new dinner spot in Fredericksburg.

Oh my gosh, Cabernet Grill was so much better than I expected. For so many years I've been visiting Fredericksburg and have definitely been going to the wrong places. This place has been around wine country forever and it definitely deserves more attention and advertising! They exceeded my husband and my expectations while we celebrated our one year anniversary here. We had reservations and it seems they are recommended especially during a busy season. We got to dine upstairs which was so cozy and private , a little perk I didn't expect at all! Our waiter, Rich, was so accommodating and friendly- I'm so glad we had him! I had the 12 oz ribeye with maple chipotle sweet potato mash - such amazing flavor in both. 10/10 would have them again. Steak was cooked to perfection. The only mess up was my husband and I received each other's steaks and we didn't catch it until I had taken a few bites. Whoops! Our appetizer was the Texas twinkies (another table was saying "Texas twinkies!" With excitement as we got ours so clearly they're popular!) they were delicious and I especially loved the jezebel dip although I wish there was more dip, and more jalapeños. For dessert we had the butterscotch bread pudding. I normally go for cheesecake but I believe they were all out but the description of this dessert sold me. Everything blew us away, from the astounding customer service , to the beautiful ambiance , and beyond delicious food, we can't wait to go back and visit !

We celebrated our anniversary here. The restaurant is beautiful, romantic, and exactly what you think of when it comes to wine country. The service was fabulous. The wine flight was great. All the reds were enjoyable. They started us off with a delicious sample of their carrot ginger soup. WOW! Very good. We then had the salad with lime vinaigrette, it was ok. Wouldn't order it again. My husbands meal was much better than mine. I ordered the surf and turf. The steak was ok, a bit chewy. The mashed potatoes were average and the shrimp was really not that great as they were very dry and overcooked. However my husbands steak was absolutely delicious. The side of grits was literally one of the best grits I've ever tasted. Overall it was a very nice experience just don't order the surf and turf.

One of the better restaurants in Fredericksburg. I appreciate their staff squeezing us in for a last minute reservation. My steak was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor. I'll definitely keep this place in mind as a option the next time I'm in town.

My only regret is not taking photos of our entrees. While the food was amazing, there were two things about this place that made us go hmmmmm.... There's a limit to the number of people per table so we had to divide our group of nine to two tables and we were seated far from each other. Our waiter was strange. We were served a nice shot of soup and we jokingly asked him if it was an alcoholic drink. He proceeded to school us on how that was illegal. At any rate, our appetizers and especially our entrees were very good. I had the flounder with the mashed potato and I pretty much wiped the plate clean. We also decided to try some of their desserts: crème brûlée, friggin chocolate yum and warm butterscotch bread pudding. I am not much of a bread pudding kinda gal but this was very good, especially when accompanied with the butter sauce. This really is a cute place with cabins situated right next to it. It's a place I'd consider coming back to when I'm in Fredericksburg with my husband.
